(UNIVIE)

Organisation Type: Higher Education
The Department of Environmental Geosciences at the University of Vienna has 28 members and a long track record of investigating transport and fate of natural organic and inorganic colloids and engineered nanoparti-cles and their interactions with contaminants. The Department hosts a recently funded 2.3 M€ worth Nano-Laboratory, a unique core infrastructure funded by the Austrian Ministry of Science to investigate natural and engineered nanoparticles. This includes high-end analytical techniques, i.e., dual beam FIB-FE-SEM, TEM, SAXS, DLS, SLS, F-FFF, Sed-FFF, SEC, HR-ICP-MS, ultracentrifugation, Nano-SIMS, µ-XRF, and FFF-ICP-MS. The Department is also equipped with on-site measurement and characterization equipment for nanoparticles, including e.g., Time of Transition based measurement, in-situ turbidity, fluorescent measurements, etc.

Taking Nanotechnological Remediation Processes from Lab Scale to End User Applications for the Restoration of a Clean Environment.
This project has received funding from the European Union Seventh Framework Programme (FP7/2007-2013) under grant agreement No. 309517
